Third Party Software Integration
The key to increased productivity is automation. Anytime that data, previously entered, can be passed seamlessly and automatically between departments, equipment and applications, you reduce turnaround time, reduce the chance for transcription errors, and therefore increase profitability and customer satisfaction.
However, the Job Definition Format (JDF), as an evolving standard, is but one way for vendors to communicate. Avanti has developed tight integration into several third party software packages such as our Xerox integration and XML integration to allow you to easily incorporate the Avanti solution into your environment.
Xerox Integration
Avanti has developed several workflow integration points into Xerox’s Freeflow Digital Workflow framework that seamlessly provide for automated job submission, tracking and billing by invoice or chargebacks, regardless of how a job is submitted to the shop – via the internet, via FTP, e-mail or over the counter.
The figure below displays how Avanti integrates with Xerox’s Freeflow Digital Workflow framework:

The numbers labeled in the figure are explained below:
- Customer Service Representative (CSR) enters a job they received either over the phone, over the counter or via e-mail into Avanti’s Order Entry and, upon submission, the job automatically passes into Process Manager™ for processing.
- The job is submitted across the Internet via Freeflow WebServices™ . Freeflow WebServices automatically passes the job directly into Process Manager and into Avanti upon submission.
- Job submitted across the internet via Freeflow WebServices™ is sent directly to the printer, with a job automatically created in Avanti when it is submitted.
- In all scenarios, job status and job costing information is automatically passed from the Xerox machines to Avanti via integration into Freeflow DocuSP.
XML Integration
Avanti has created an interface that allows the import of information from any third party Web-to-Print solution into Avanti’s Order Entry system. This module allows you to define the exact information you wish to import. The transfer is completely seamless and occurs automatically when a job is submitted. Some of the features include:
- Easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) for one-time field mapping of the exact information needed for import from the XML file
- Import and map unlimited number of fields
- Easily identify new orders which can be flagged and/or searched as “Jobs Waiting to be Processed” before they go into production
- Automatically schedule of all pre-defined products
- Capability to export XML/JDF back to the third party Web-to-Print system
