November 8, 2007 - Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Avanti Computer Systems, a leading provider of Print MIS solutions to the Graphic Arts industry, used the backdrop of Graphics Canada to launch its new Electronic Scheduling Board (ESB) today. As a part of Avanti's Finite Scheduling module, the ESB takes their Milestone Scheduling to the next level by providing a real-time graphical view of all jobs currently in production as well as a tool to perform real-time schedule optimization.

Patrick Bolan, Avanti's President and CEO, commented, "Printers will realize immediate payback by reducing schedule conflicts, overtime and outsourcing charges." Bolan says, "Schedule optimization will significantly improve on-time delivery of jobs and reduce turnaround time."

Highlights include:

  • One-button dynamic scheduling for all shop operations
  • Schedule new jobs automatically based on customers, priorities, and dependencies
  • Perform load balancing across similar machinery
  • Easily adjust the schedule with "drag-and-drop" functionality
  • Ability to schedule recurring jobs
  • Allow "on-the-fly" shift additions and changes
  • Lock the schedule while performing "what-if" scenarios to understand the impact on delivery times before making actual changes to the published schedule
